Lance Slide On Campers Eco-Green

The Lance Standard for being Eco-Green delivers the highest commitment to being Green possible.

The commitment began with visionary management having every element of the operation contribute to the green effort. To that end, Lance began by building a state-of-the-art 141,000 square foot campus that features “smart buildings” – buildings that utilizes natural light, metered heating and air conditioning office-by-office and are tied into the power grid to participate in power savings programs. Even the lighting is intelligent.

Lance searches the globe for the best materials available. Lance products feature Azdel™ which replaces wood in the structure. It’s also lighter and has exceptional insulation properties saving on heating and air conditioning needs. Lite-ply™ not only makes for superior wood work, it’s farmed from renewable resources to avoid deforestation.

Every glue and cleaner Lance uses meets or exceeds the highest standards possible – and that’s saying a lot in California where the standards are the nations’ toughest.

In production, the engineering is so advanced that computers use CNC routers to get the most out of every sheet of product for minimal waste. At the end of a production day, Lance produces less waste than just about any RV manufacturer – and most of ours is recycled.

But it doesn’t stop there. Lance products have always been made better. Built since 1965, many Lance products are still in service which means they are little virtually no impact on landfills – but rather continuing to perform their intended task… camping.

Since 2015, all Lance products are mercury-free. Yes, it costs more to provide you with a safer RV and protect the environment – but at Lance – it’s how we do business. Even our literature is printed on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved paper which uses recycled products protecting our forests for generations to come.

At Lance, our Eco contribution is attuned to the breath of Mother Earth – conforming to nature rather than the other way around.

John’s beast and his Lance 1062 slide on camper

The Sydney 4×4 and Adventure Show recently wrapped up on 16 October. After three days in the beautful Australian sun we certainly returned back to the office a little sun kissed.

A huge response at the show to John’s beast the Dodge Ram 3500 with the Lance 1062 on board. People were simply amazed at the size of the slide on camper. If we got $1 every time someone said, “I had no idea they made slide ons this big” well we could retireslide on campers for dodge ram Dodge Ram and Slide On Campers sales Dodge RamSlide On Campers Dodge Ram and truck camper sales Dodge Ram and Slide On Campers Dodge Ram and Slide Ons

Grey Nomads and Truck Camper Sales

Lance Slide On Campers Featured on The Grey Nomads

Special Feature from the Grey Nomads Australia website

While the vast majority of grey nomads still plump for either a caravan or a motorhome for their Big Lap rig, a growing number are switching on to the significant advantages of a slide-on camper.

The key benefit when compared to a caravan is that the living quarters don’t have to be towed making it safer to travel with, and its key benefit when compared to a motorhome is that it is fully removable from the Ute or truck tray. This detachability enables grey nomads using slide-ons to leave the camper behind at their campsite while they explore the area.

Many of today’s slide-on campers can be removed from a vehicle in less than five minutes using automated legs which lift and lower the camper into position. A handy remote control lets

When slide-ons are removed, it’s time to go exploring.

happy travellers stand back and raise their campers, before driving their vehicles out from underneath.

For grey nomads who aren’t on the road full-time, the other significant advantage over a motorhome is that your vehicle isn’t ‘wasted’ for however long you are not out on the open road.

For some people having a $100K plus asset tied up in the back yard is also just not viable. The detachment of a slide-on allows full use of the Ute year round.

Slide-ons come in a range of sizes to suit a range of ‘mother’ vehicles and can come with a surprising amount of accessories and facilities offering motorhome-esque levels of comfort.

For grey nomads who may also want to tow a boat on their adventure,  the slide-on can be positioned above the Ute tray of your vehicle to expose your tow bar.

Gary Wragg is one soon-to-be traveller who has been thoroughly convinced by the merits of a slide-on as a Big Lap option.

After 18 months of research, he says Australian products are very much to the fore, although he says the purchase of a suitable 4×4 tray does complicate the issue.

“The convenience of a comfortable rig that allows split second decisions to go, travel self contained for short or extended trips and vary our itinerary is close to heaven for me,” he said. “We are late 60’s and retired, so the window for outback travel is narrowing … I’d like to get going shortly to properly explore many of the places where we made cursory visits in the past.”

When his three children were young, Gary and his family holidayed in a dual cab ute and a tent and that ‘get up and go anywhere’ flexibility of the slide-on is what he sees as one of its key advantages.

Gary lists his reasons for choosing a slide-on as:

  • No towing – goes where trailers are unable to, easy to park, reduces fuel, registration, maintenance and ferry costs.
  • Convenience: can drive and park easily with 400kg dry weight, and is free to use after sliding off at camp.
  • Stores very easily in limited space.
  • Easy to set up and dismantle.
  • Self-contained (kitchen, toilet, shower, heating, hot water and power from gas, diesel, solar, 12v and 240v power)

Rosehill Supershow Wrap Up 2016

Show Wrap Up 2016 -
Well we are glad we turned up. What a professional and well executed event held by the CCIA. After a year of planning we are really proud of how our site look at presented to our current and future customers.
We were warmly welcomed with many of the comments focussing around the fact that that the public were not aware that such a quality slide on camper existed in Australia.
When we set out on this journey we wanted to bring to Australia the US Number 1 slide on camper, or Truck Camper as they call it. And after several years of research and now several years of testing in the Australian market, it is clear we have achieved this.
Some of the regular comments we recieved:
‘Wow it even has a slide out’
‘I had no idea this option even existed’
‘I cannot believe I am actually on the back of a ute right now’
A hit for patrols was the new Mazda BT50 carrying the Lance 650. Such a tidy package and adequately equipped for some serious travelling.
After so much positive feedback and enquiry from the show we are a little snowed under this week. So those who left their details for us to give them a live demonstration, please be patient, you will hear back from us by the end of the week. We will also be sending out and info email to our group email list, so make sure you are on it. (IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ADDED TO OUR INFO MAILING LIST PLEASE EMAIL US AT INFO@TRUCKCAMPERSALES.COM.AU)
Stay tuned for some more updates and new camper configurations in the very near future.
Cheers CCIA.

Any portable butane gas cooker that was purchased prior to 1 July 2015 is unsafe and not permitted for use at CMCA events. Lance Launches All New 360 Interior Photography

Lancaster, California – 3/29/16 – As part of the planned improvements to their consumer website, Lance has added all new 360 interior photography for select models.

“The addition of 360 product tours is a tactic we have had on our digital marketing “checklist” for some time and quite frankly are late to the party with,” states Director of Marketing Bob Rogers. “Although certainly not cutting edge technology, our ability to produce interactive 360 tours provides a high quality visual experience for customers visiting our website. Users can scan, zoom and move from one room to another within a Lance RV without having to leave their home.

It’s not as easy as most think, as with most photography and videography, camera and lens quality as well as great lighting are key.”

With 360 photography, there is nowhere to set up supplemental lighting like you can with traditional fixed frame photography. You have to rely on the lighting in the unit itself and make minor corrections in postproduction. It is an art to be able to remove the area where the camera is placed, most photographers simply create a “hole” or maybe add a logo to that area.

The smallest slide on camper from Lance Campers here in Australia

Its here…. the smallest Lance Slide On Camper ever…. The 650 model.

We recently unpacked the first of Lance’s smallest slide on camper ever. The amazing new 650 by manufacturer Lance Camper is set to take the Australian market by storm. Historically the main issue with fitting a Lance Camper to the Australian made utilities is pay load capacity. Lance Campers are solid in construction and packed with accessories, appliances and features but the one draw back with all these features is the weight of the campers. The mid to upper range of Lance Slide On Campers are too heavy for our standard Australian utilities.

The game has now changed with the introduction of the Lance 650. Having worked with Lance Camper for several years now Truck Camper Sales Australia have highlighted to the manufacturer the need for a lighter weight model to suit utilities with a smaller pay load. Well now in 2016 that request has come to fruition.

The 650 model still has an internal bathroom, kitchen area, dinette, cabover bed, refrigerator and air conditioner. None of the great items we have all grown to love from Lance Camper have been excluded. The 650 model is actually even higher internally than its big brother the Lance 825. The Lance 650 is actually the height internally of the Lance 855S which is the mid range camper in the fleet. So where some areas of the camper have been brought in in size to minimise weight the camper height and internal appliance is very similar to the 855S model. Lances state of the art computer design programming has allowed the design of the 650 to really maximise ALL space in and around the voids within the camper structure. These campers fit our Aussie sized utilities Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50, Holden Colorado and Toyota Hilux making it sure to be an Australian hit.
